Hampta Pass Trek Itinerary: 5 Nights and 4 Days

The journey to Hampta Pass will start from Manali. However, at the beginning, the journey will be by vehicle. Our shared vehicle will pick you up from the Manali starting point, followed by an one-hour drive to Jobra. From Jobra, the actual Hampta Pass trekking will start. The total distance of this trek is approximately 26 kilometers, and on the first day we will cover around 3 kilometers. At Chikka, we will set our first campsite, surrounded by snow-clad mountains.

The second day will be a little more challenging than day 1. Because on the second day the trek distance will be longer, but it is also guaranteed that the thrill will be twofold. On the second day of this trek, you will experience the first river crossing before entering the colorful Jwara meadows. After a short lunch break at Jwara, we will continue towards Balu-ka-Ghera through minimal ascents following the river.

On the 3rd day, we will cover 9 kilometers to reach the Hampta Pass and then the Shea Goru campsite. Starting early in the morning, for the first one kilometer, the zigzag trail will follow the river, followed by a steep ascent. Here you will observe the change of landscape, greenery will be replaced by rocky and snowy surface. This steep trail will lead us to Hampta Pass. You are now at the highest point of this trek, Hampta Pass altitude is 14,065 feet. The trail continues with a steep descent from the pass, followed by a flat run towards the Shea Goru campsite.

Our return journey to Manali starts from Chhatru. On the fourth day, you will cover a distance of 5 kilometers to reach Chhatru. On this day, you will also experience the most adventurous river crossing. The trail is mostly descent, which will allow us to reach Chhatru by midday. From Chhatru, a vehicle will be arranged for your return journey to Manali via the Atal Tunnel. The vehicle will drop you at the Manali bus stand.
