On day one, you will set out on a journey from Mumbai to Dehradun. To save time, we have added air travel in our Kedarnath package to cover this distance. You will land at the Jolly Grant airport of Dehradun. Our ride will wait for you at the airport to take you to Rishikesh. At Rishikesh, a cozy place will be arranged for you to spend the night. After reaching Rishikesh, you can try adventure activities, visit ashrams and ghats, and take part in the evening Ganga Aarti.
On the second day, we will leave Rishikesh for Guptkashi. We will travel by road in a spacious and comfortable shared vehicle. The distance between Rishikesh and Guptkashi is almost 180 kilometers, and we will reach there by evening. On the route, we will pray at the Dhari Devi Temple for our safe and successful journey. Also, the pious Ganga sangam at Devprayag will also fall in the way. We will spend the night at Guptkashi.
Today we have part road travel and part trekking to reach Kedarnath. We will start after breakfast. First, from Guptkashi we will take a local taxi to Sonprayag. We have to leave our vehicle at Guptkashi because beyond this point only local vehicles are allowed. Our destination is Gaurikund, which is approximately 8 kilometers from Sonprayag. Gaurikund serves as the base camp for the Kedarnath trek. From Gaurikund, you will start your trek to Kedarnath. The trek is around 16 kilometers long and will take 5 to 6 hours to complete. By evening, you will reach Kedarnath and check into your hotel. Take some rest and attend evening Aarti at Kedarnath Temple.
There are lots of sites to visit in Kedarnath other than the Kedarnath Temple. The most important sites are Bheem Shila, Bhairavnath Temple, and Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi. After sightseeing, start trekking back towards Gaurikund. From Gaurikund, a local taxi will take you to your hotel in Guptkashi. Spend the night at Guptkashi after a sumptuous dinner.
This is our last leg of the journey. In the morning, we will start for Rishikesh after breakfast and will reach by evening. From Rishikesh, our transport will drop you at Jolly Grant Airport for your flight to Mumbai.

Places to Visit in Kedarnath
Our Kedarnath trip packages also include sightseeing on the way and around Kedarnath Temple. All these places have their spiritual significance, making your Kedarnath trip a wholesome experience.
Dhari Devi Temple
Dhari Devi Temple is a must-visit place on the way to Kedarnath. Located at Kalyasaur, between Srinagar and Rudraprayag, it is believed that Maa Dhari is the protector of Char-dham. It is also believed that devotees who pay their visits to Dhari Devi during their yatra to Kedarnath secure the protection of Maa Dhari and complete their yatra safely.
Vasuki Taal
This crystal-clear lake sits at 14,200 feet above sea level. The lake is surrounded by snow-covered peaks, and you can observe the majestic Chaukhamba peaks from this spot. It’s a moderately difficult 8-km trek from Kedarnath temple and can be completed within a day. It is believed that on one auspicious day of Rakhsha Bandhan, Lord Vishu bathed in this lake.
Gandhi Sarovar
Gandhi Sarovar is just a 3-kilometer trek from Kedarnath town. The original name of this lake is Chorabari Taal because it is situated at the mouth of the Chorabari glacier. It is believed that this is the place where Lord Shiva taught yoga to Sapt Rishis. The lake was renamed Gandhi Sarovar in 1948 after some of Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were scattered in this lake. Other than its mythological and historical significance, the Gandhi Sarovar offers breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayas.
Bhairav Temple
Bhairav temple is situated above Kedarnath, and it takes another 800 meters uphill trek to reach this temple. Locals regarded Lord Bhairav as Khestrapal, or the protector of the Kedarnath area, who watches over the Kedar valley when the temple is closed during winter. The temple offers amazing views of the valley and the surrounding mountains.
Shankaracharya Samadhi
The chief proponent of Adwaita Vedanta, Adi Guru Shankaracharya, is credited with the revival of many Hindu pilgrimage sites. Kedarnath is one of them. Legend says that Shankaracharya built the present Kedarnath temple in the 8th century AD and at the age of 32 he attained moksha there. The Samadhi of Guru Shankaracharya is a short walk from the main temple and is an important spiritual site.
